Deadly Car Accident Leaves Young Fontana Girl Dead and 2 Injuried

Around 12:00 p.m. Fontana Police responded to a report of a car accident involving two vehicles with a little girl seriously injured.  The one-year-old girl who was identified as Emma Van Buren, was in the rear passenger seat sitting in a car seat when the accident occurred.  She was ejected from the 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix and sustained severe head and chest trauma.  Paramedics transported her to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Fontana, sadly she passed away a few hours later.

The accident involved two vehicles and occurred at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Hemlock Avenue.  A 24 year-old who was driving the Pontiac apparently tried to make a right turn on Hemlock Avenue but failed to see a vehicle already in the lane.  A 2007 Chevrolet crashed into the passenger side of the Pontiac, the driver of the pontiac suffered major head trauma and a fractured skull.  The 51- year-old man driving the Chevrolet sustained minor back and leg injuries.

A few hours after the accident the driver of the Chevrolet, 51 Job Pearce, returned to the scene of the accident after being released from the hospital.  “Why did he make that turn from that lane?” he asked sadly. “I had no way of missing him.”  Police stated it’s important that drivers make safe decisions and always be aware of their surroundings.  Safe driving is the only way we can prevent tragic accidents such as this one.  If you or a loved one have been involved in a car accident it’s extremely important that you contact a Fontana personal injury attorney right away.
